2014

2014
This year's goals
Continue improving my cooking skill.
Since moving into our apartment last year I've been working on learning to cook. With the help of Pinterest and the endless recipes at my hands I have become quite the little chef (at least in my husband's eyes). I love having dinner ready when he comes home with all of us at the table. Lady actually listens to our conversations and chimes in jabbering in her tiny voice.
Get involved with a moms group
I would love to meet up with other mamas near us. I know there are several groups that meet up throughout the year and as it gets warmer I think I'll try to reach out.
Run a half marathon
My goal is to run the Joplin memorial run in May in honor of the tornado victims. I think it is a doable goal with enough time to train. I put off doing any big runs since giving birth but I think now is the time to kick myself in the butt and get on the healthy track again. I'm excited to get back out in the race world again!
Post on my blog more often
I would like to start writing on here at least once a month. I'm a giant procrastinator with all of these ideas in my head but never actually get around to doing it (it took me 'til the 22nd to write on here). I enjoy writing my thoughts out here, having a place to unwind is really nice.

2013 was honestly the best year in my life so far and I'm sure plenty of people say that but it really was so so good. I hope 2014 is just as good, bring on the memories!

Just a year ago

It was a year ago this week I found out I was 5 & 1/2 months pregnant. It just does not feel real even now. I cannot believe I am a mom. I have this wonderful daughter and it is just astounding to me. I am so grateful for her, our baby Lady. I'm really terrible at trying to get out what I"m actually trying to say but the best way I can describe it is that she is perfect. She is perfect for us and exactly what we need.

Cherokee Holiday and Holiday Veterans run

We went to Tahlequah, Ok for the 61st Cherokee Holiday and my first 5K since having baby Lady. It was Andy and Lady's first powwow and we even got a chance to meet Chief Bill J. Baker that night. Lady didn't seem to mind the loud drumming at all and I loved seeing my heritage and getting to share it with her.

Here is us at the Holiday Veterans run the next morning. I was so nervous with it being my first postpartum race but I ended up actually doing really well, I ran the whole thing without stopping. It felt so good to finally get back out there in the racing world.

Bumpdate: 36 weeks

How far along: 36 Weeks

Sleep: Beyond exhausted most of the time and can hardly get sleep for a long period. I cannot wait to not have to work overnights, although then I'll have a new "boss" who will control my sleep schedule ;).

Maternity Clothes: Now I that is all I can wear. I have maternity work pants I wear everyday. Then for home/out and about I wear only maternity clothes. I actually like them a lot, we got them from Target. They have a pretty good selection to choose from.

Food cravings: Even though I know I'm not actually hungry I feel like I want to eat everything in sight.

Food aversions: More like smell aversions, I am SO sensitive to smells.

Symptoms I have: Exhaustion mostly. I feel thankful to have a healthy pregnancy so far.

Doctor’s Appointment: At my last appointment I was 1 cm dilated.

Movement: Heavy powerful movements instead of the small "butterfly" movements I had before.

Belly Button: My belly button in on the way out

Gender: Baby girl!

What I’m looking forward to: Being able to workout again. Like really workout not just a brisk walk and I'm pooped but a hardcore push yourself workout.

What I miss: Being able to work out

Christmas 2012

This year at Christmas we went to four separate Christmases, not something I want to continue doing each year but I loved seeing everyone. Next year when we'll be a family of three I just want to relax, I say that now and we'll probably be trucking to see everyone again. Not being able to afford much we just made truffles and puppy chow for our families and enjoyed everyone's company.

Christmas eve / Christmas day - Week 28

My sisters and I - Sarah, me, Megan.

My grandparents, clearly overjoyed with Christmas spirit.

My mom, who stole her dirty Santa gift from out great grandma.

Andy the wrapping expert did this masterpiece.

Gratitude

I'm sitting here feeling my baby move inside my growing belly and just feeling extremely thankful. It makes me so happy to feel movement, to know she is there growing and has been for so long without me knowing it. I am incredibly overwhelmed with all of these different emotions, the most precious present is about to come our way. For so long thinking I would never be able to have a baby my biggest feeling is gratitude. I cannot imagine how different it will all be but I'm so excited to find out. We have so much support from both families, I know she will be very well loved. I cannot wait to be a mom :)

My Aunt sent me this video today.

Bumpdate - 25 weeks

25 Weeks

How far along: 25 Weeks

Sleep: I have been kept up a couple of night this week due to so much movement. I love it but I love sleep too.

Maternity Clothes: I bought a BeBand to wear over my work pants this week, I really like it so far :)

Food cravings: I'm a giant sweet tooth. I'm still on my banana and peanut butter kick.

Food aversions: None but I'm sensitive to smells.

Symptoms I have: I think I was blessed with not getting sick so far throughout my pregnancy although I am extremely sleepy all of the time.

Doctor’s Appointment: Had my first visit with my obgyn this week :) I got to meet her, talk with her about the things I've missed, and even tour the maternity ward. I'm really happy with the hospital I chose, I feel very comfortable and welcomed there.

Movement: All the time

Belly Button: Innie

Gender: When we went to the ER they told her a girl. My doctor said she was pretty certain she is a girl but the baby had her hands between her legs.

What I’m looking forward to: Relaxing now that I've finally been to the Obgyn and enjoying being pregnant.

What I miss: nothing

Andy Snuck some pictures while I was getting my ultrasound. We were able to get ultrasound pictures for us but no profile pictures, just of the head measurements, stomach, and a leg.

We got to listen to the heartbeat.
